Introduction

The committee constitutes of key decision makers from the Government, IT industry and other external stakeholders.

The key objective of the Vision Group is to create an industry-government dyad for meaningful dialogue and partnership. The group would suggest initiatives that can be taken to align the IT business ecosystem in the State to the needs of the industry. The committee would also act as a sounding board for feedback and guidance on strategies and projects to be undertaken and monitor and take stock of progress on agreed milestones. The industry partners would provide access to network of investors and entrepreneurs and conceptualize joint initiatives in the areas of mutual interest.

Composition of the Vision Group

The Vision Group is a 20-25 member think tank that is chaired by the Chief Minister. It is suggested that the Group is constituted of distinguished members that are broadly categorized in the following categories- Government of Punjab, IT/ITeS industry and Industry association/Venture Capitalists and financial institutions.

• Managing Director, Punjab InfoTech

b. Special invitees

• Representatives from other Government departments, based on the agenda of the meeting.
• Representative from industry associations such as NASSCOM, TiE, CII
• Industry representatives

Frequency of Meeting

The Vision Group would meet at least once six months and these meetings are moderated and coordinated by Punjab Infotech.
